Während die ARD immer noch darüber nachdenkt, wie sie ihre Inhalte zugänglicher machen kann, hat das zdf einen eigenen Kanal auf youtube eingerichtet. Dort habe ich folgendes Video gefunden:

It is said, that in order to reconsecrate their temples the Aztecs offered human sacrifices to some god. Those sacrifices were better in bigger numbers, although the numbers were mostly exaggerated. There were sacrifices to be offered for many different reasons. There were those periodic sacrifices bound to cosmic cycles believed to be responsible for an end of the world if not stopped, there were the sacrifices that had to be offered before or even after a battle and there were the sacrifices to specific gods persuading them to do something. But the most interesting part of the sacrifice was not, who it was to, but who was to be sacrificed!

Endlich haben die Republikaner im US-Wahlkampf für die Midterms einen Aufhänger gefunden: In einer Rede vor Studenten soll der gescheiterte demokratische Präsidentschaftskandidat John Kerry gesagt haben

“We’re here to talk about education, but I want to say something before, you know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Ich weiss, es ist vorbei, der Kriegstreiber aus Texas ist weitergeflogen. Übrig bleibt der bittere Geschmack von “was soll das?”.

Ich wollte schon vorher die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen ansprechungen und sie mit einer Geschichte über den zweiten Kalifen - Omar Ibn Al-Khattab - im islamischen Staat vergleichen…

Mahvish Khan schreibt über ihre Besuche des Gefängnisses auf Guantanamo. Sie erzählt von den Guantanamo-Häftlingen, mit denen sie während ihres Aufenthalts spricht. Der Artikel ist trotz der Länge sehr empfehlenswert. Zwei Stellen möchte ich hier zitieren. (hoffentlich verärgere ich die washington Post nicht..)
