The worst nightmares any American has ever had about a rerun of 9/11/2001 will become reality very soon! Make no mistakes: the only hope to avoid another 9/11 the US had has quit. Rudy Giuliani said to the nation after they refused to see their mistake:
Ok, I’ll just leave you to face your doom.
So, to end the legacy of Rudy Giuliani, here’s a small collection of videos about his campaign:
The elections in Russia weren’t really an example for extraordinarily ‘well done’ democratic elections. Actually, the whole Putin-era hasn’t been definable as a democratic rein either. Be it elections or media censorship - Russia simply shouldn’t be used as a shining example to demonstrate democracy!
But when some people demand ‘political consequences‘ [via] i have to ask myself: What for? Helle Dale has written a nice editorial in which she compares Russian elections to those held under Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship. To the end, she cites Angela Merkel:
By international standards, Russia cannot be called a democracy anymore — as German Chancellor Angela Merkel remarked to her credit. She knows something about political repression, having grown up in East Germany. There should be consequences.
Well, what she seems to neglect is that this is one of Angela Merkel’s few often-used statement-capsules: “I know something about political repression, having grown up in East Germany.” She uses those to warm up the air around her - not more (via Pispers)…
Right-wingers in US, British and German politics have to deal with trouble ahead. While the ‘coalition of the willing’ was and seems to still be unable to win the hearts and minds of Arab people ((’how could they win their hearts and minds, when they leave their hearts at one place and their minds at another.. (i think this is a quote by Volker Pispers) )), it seems their main foe, Iran, is doing quite a good job. The Iran had captured 15 british soldiers, which it said were sailing in it’s own territories. Two days ago, in a surprising move, the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had the 15 soldiers released. Now, it seems that Iran has reached the hearts and minds of many Westerners by doing that.
The standard “Related Posts” plugin for lightpress tries to find posts that are posted under the same or nearly the same categories as the one currently viewed. The results are highly unsatisfactory.
I got the new sql-query from the “Related Posts” plugin for wordpress.

In the first part i’ve introduced a way of aligning interconnected nodes in an optimal way. The methods used had some flaws that i discussed in the last article about dynamic network-graphs. In this article i would like to expand and improve the previous script.
For the past couple of weeks i’ve been trying to find out how to visualize my referrer statistics visually. It would be a network nodes, each connected to some of the other nodes, via edges. The requirement of the visualization-engine would be the following:
nodes must hold a specified distance to other nodes.
interconnected nodes should try to get as close together as possible (they should still abide by the first rule)
connections can be weighted, so that those with a higher weight would be preferred to be shorter
each node has a mass - A higher mass results in slower motion and more stability.
nodes can be fixed (not moving)
the space used by the entire network should be minimized
To see an Example of my own implementation so far:
Laila El-Haddad ist Journalistin für den Fernsehsender Aljazeera. Auf ihrem persönlichen Weblog “Raising Yousuf”, berichtet sie aktuell aus dem Gaza-Streifen. Diesen Artikel fand ich besonders interessant:
I then scanned Haaretz, which reported that the Israeli Army will begin enforcing their 5km buffer zone tonight (which covers 2 major northern gaza towns), and advise Palestinian residents to either “shut themselves up in their homes” or flee before they strike. “The army will warn residents that leaving their homes will mean putting themselves in danger.” The warnings will be given through thousands of flyers dropped by Israeli aircraft.
Well, at least they are being humane about all this. I wonder what the flyers will say. “Hi there! We’re going to destroy your neighborhood today, possibly your house. Just a head’s up. Have a great day!”

The version 2.40 of Blender will be released anyday now and one of the bigger features, that it will bring with it is the modifier stack. The modifier stack will contain many functions that has allready been in blender and some new ones, the big advantage of the use of the modifier stack will be the modularity and interactivity plus the modifications are centralized in one location - the edit button (F9). Also this way any modification can be easily undone or edited at any time.’;
