Im Mai 2008 wurde Hicham Yezza, ein Informatiker an der Nottingham Universität, in einer weithin bekannt gewordenen Anti-Terror-Razzia zusammen mit dem Studenten Rizwaan Sabir verhaftet. Sie hatten Al-Qaida-Materialien von der Internetseite des US-Verteidigungsministeriums als Teil der akademischen Ausarbeitung über Terrorismus von Sabir heruntergeladen.
Schändlicherweise wurden sie von der Nottingham-Universität der Polizei gemeldet. Der Verzicht von Britischen Universitäten auf die Idee der akademischen Unabhängigkeit ist eines der unbesungen Tragödien unserer jüngsten Geschichte. Unsere Universitäten sind zu Fließbandfabriken geworden, die eine zunehmende Anzahl an “beruflich ausgebildeten” Absolventen in einen Markt einliefern, der mit weit weniger Berufen für Hochschulabsolventen aufwarten kann, als Nachfrage vorhanden ist. Die vorhandene Forschung, die noch betrieben wird, wird nicht mehr an ihrer Auswirkung auf das menschliche Wissen, sondern lediglich an Staatskonzepten wie ökonomischen und sozialen Auswirkungen gemessen.

Lala Süsskind soll tatsächlich das menschenverachtende Zitat der Terroristin Golda Meir genutzt haben, mit der diese und die Generationen an israelischen Poltikern nach ihr das Abschlachten von Palästinensern gerechtfertigt haben:
„We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them to force us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”
Wir können den Araber vergeben, dass sie unsere Kinder töten.
Wir können ihnen nicht vergeben, dass sie uns zwingen, ihre Kinder zu töten.
Wir werden erst Frieden mit den Arabern haben, wenn sie ihre Kinder mehr lieben als sie uns hassen.
Eine Unverschämtheit ist es, den Opfern des Angriffs die Schuld daran zu geben. Sich selbst von jeglicher Verantwortung freizusprechen, indem man – einem Vergewaltiger ähnlich – sagt, dass das Opfer einem gezwungen hätte. Let’s admit it. The USA is drifting and going mad while at it. One would think that in sight of the disaster that resulted from their attack on Iraq, they would pause and think for a second. But that’s not about to happen. While the world is puzzling over which of Iran or Syria would be the next target of another US-led invasion peace-bringing effort, the USA has started to openly attack Somalia in an effort to – as the US-Administration says – get rid of Al-Qaeda-Militants. ((it should be noted, that the ICU, whom the US accuses of harboring Terrorists at least doesn’t openly support Terrorism and denounces Ussama Bin-Laden’s Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, although Al-Qaeda Operative Al-Sawahiri was quoted as saying Somalia is the ‘next battleground’.))
For the US-Administration it seems to be clear, who is good and who is evil in this part of the world – or any other part really. More frightening is the aspect of non-negotiation that the US-Administration seems to have taken as a credo. Everyone opposing the US has to be a terrorist, who’s only goal is to destroy the “free world” and abandon freedom in general. And every single one of those has to die or he will pose a threat to the US.
