Google killed the address bar

author | 22. März 2009

Why do many people type in the (fully qualified) URL of a website into the “google master”? What’s the point in having Domain names if you’re gonna search for the content either way? And what if google for whatever reason doesn’t know the server you’re looking for? Or it simply doesn’t think that site is important enough to be on the top of the list. It will simply give you some sites that it thinks are valuable for that search string..

People, there is an address bar on top of nearly every Webbrowser, where you can type in the website address. If you tend to forget that address you could bookmark that site once you’ve found it. But please stop using google for your everyday site lookups, even if it’s so “easy”..

And here is something for my (very early) career as a song writer.. (read with the well known song “Video killed the radio star” running..)
